With roots in both Wales and the Czech Republic, musician Katuš Young joins forces with Brazilian percussionist Paula Nozzari.
Gifthorses is the nom de plume of artist Katuš Young, a restless traveler weaving music from Chinese hulusi, flute, guitar and voice in many tongues, including Czech. For the first time at Worldfest she joins Brazilian drummer and composer Paula Nozzari, whose fiery rhythms have carried her across continents since her Porto Alegre beginnings. Together with violinist Anna Štěpánová, they bring an energetic blend of traditions, improvisation and global sounds.
